Honeydew Heaven is very easy to make. A great alternative to ice
cream on a hot day. Serve it as a dessert, a palate cleanser or
a refreshing snack. |

- 1 honeydew melon
- 2 inch (5 cm) piece of ginger

Instructions |
- Place sugar and water in a small pan and heat gently,
stirring until the sugar has completely dissolved.
- Remove from the heat and cool, then chill.
- Cut the melon into quarters and scoop out the seeds.
Cut away the skin too.
- Cube the the melon and place in a blender. Peel the
ginger and grate it finely. Add the grated ginger to
the melon in the blender.
- Blend until smooth.
- Mix the chilled syrup (sugar water) with the melon purée
in the blender.
- Put the mixture into a shallow container in the freezer
and stir occasionally (about every 30 minutes or so) to
break up the forming crystals.
- Tip: Don't stir too hard. You want the mixture to
have somewhat of a coarse, granular texture.
- After about 3 hours, the granita should be an appealing
batch of uniform crystals.
- Serve in well-chilled glasses.
