Everything But The Cook
Everything But The Cook As Kim (who submitted the recipe) says "There seem to be alot of instructions but really it is very easy. Just read through it once. You use only two pans. . ."
Ingredients
  • 1 chicken
  • 1/2 - 1 pound of hamburger
  • 1 cup of rice
  • 1/2 can garbanzo beans(chick peas)
  • 1/4 cup nuts (almonds, pine nuts or peanuts)
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 tablespoon allspice
  • salt and pepper
Cooking Instructions
  • Wash chicken well. Rub with salt and pepper and place in pan. Bake in oven on 350 F - (number 3) on international ovens for 1 1/4 hour.
  • As chicken is cooking brown the nuts, set aside.
  • Place hamburger in pan and brown. Add spices cook for a minute more and then add rice.
  • Stir fry the rice for 1 minute and then add 1 cup of water. Bring to boil. Cover, lower heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked.
  • When chicken is cooked serve it on top of the rice mixture.
  • You can serve the chicken either whole or cut into pieces. Place the browned nuts on top.
  • Serve with plain yogurt and salad.
Comments Serves about 4 normal people, 2 Americans or one fat boy.
